We're excited to present a very special schools screening of Power Station as our second FREE school screening at the festival after the success of The Walk last year.
Inspired by lockdown mutual aid initiatives, artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn decided to turn their street into an energy-generating powerhouse – a prototype for a new way of living, with the hope of galvanising a wider push towards sustainable alternatives.
Directed by the duo, Power Station charts their turbulent journey, from pitching the idea to their neighbours and sleeping on the roof of their home, to growing thousands of sunflowers and launching a bid for a Christmas number one single!
Power Station is a scalable prototype of community led power working to turn a street and local schools solar. A vibrant portrait of a neighbourhood and a charming testament to the power of art to change minds.
More information about the film can be found on the Power Station website.
Power Station is rated PG which means that it is suitable for general viewing and should not unsettle a child or young person aged 8 years and over although parents and caregivers should be aware that some scenes may be unsuitable for more sensitive children. We are recommending the film for Year 6 and over.
